Unhealthy food is one of the main causes of premature death

Unhealthy food is one of the main causes of premature death

Unhealthy diet is the leading cause of premature death worldwide. According to studies by leading authorities on global diseases, consumption of red meat and sugar-sweetened beverages has been found to be responsible for approximately 21% of deaths worldwide. About 11 million deaths a year are related to unhealthy diets.

We consume too many sugary drinks, too much salt and too much processed meat as junk food instead of healthy foods like whole grains, nuts, seeds, fruits and vegetables.

According to the Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation (IHME), a combination of dietary factors from eating too few fruits and vegetables, nuts, and whole grains results in excessive sodium and cholesterol.

Thus, unhealthy diet is the main cause of premature death. An unhealthy diet lacks the necessary balance of nutrients needed to keep the body healthy.

Four out of ten major risk factors for death are associated with unhealthy diets. These are high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and high cholesterol. Insufficient consumption of fruits and vegetables increases the risk of cardiovascular disease and certain types of cancer. A high intake of salt, saturated fats and trans fats leads to high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease, a major risk factor for premature death.

SOME EXAMPLES OF UNHEALTHY DIET.

In general, foods containing added sugar, refined grains, or processed fats are unhealthy.

Most drinks with added sugar are harmful to health. This can lead to obesity and overweight. Which is a risk factor for many diseases.

Commercial pizza may contain unhealthy ingredients. But homemade pizza, made from healthy ingredients in optimal quantities, is good for health.

Prolonged consumption of white bread is not good for health.

Fruit juices are generally considered healthy. But fruit juices predominantly contain a higher amount of added sugars, which is harmful to the body.

Ice cream is loaded with added sugar and is unhealthy if consumed in excess.

French fries and potato chips are rich in calories. When consumed in excess, it can lead to obesity and weight gain beyond the normal range.

Fried food is an unhealthy cooking option.

Excessive amounts of cakes and cookies are not healthy, they contain a lot of calories, consisting of fat and sugar. Therefore, it is considered unhealthy food for a long period of consumption.

Candies contain sugar, refined wheat and processed fats. Therefore, it is not considered healthy.

Processed meat consumption has been linked to many serious diseases such as colon cancer, diabetes, and heart disease.

A healthy diet is essential to maintaining and improving overall health. A healthy diet contains a balanced combination of all essential nutrients for optimal bodily function, growth and development. A healthy diet may contain seasonal fruits, vegetables, whole grains, and very little or no processed foods or added sugar.

For a healthy lifestyle, most of the calories in our daily diet should come from:

Seasonal fresh vegetables.

Seasonal fresh fruits.

Whole grain.

Legumes.

Nuts.

Lean protein fish, yogurt, beans, peas, lentils, skinless white poultry.

A balanced healthy diet strengthens the body's immunity, optimizes performance and relieves fatigue.

Children who do not receive a healthy diet may experience developmental and growth problems. They may perform poorly in school and often get sick. A healthy and balanced diet usually contains the following nutrients:

Vitamins, minerals and antioxidants.

healthy fats

Protein

Carbohydrates, including fiber and starch.

The study found that eating and drinking properly can prevent one in five deaths worldwide.

The leading dietary risk factors for mortality are diets rich in sodium, low in whole grains, low in fruit, low in nuts and seeds, low in vegetables, and low in omega-3 fatty acids, each accounting for about 2% of deaths worldwide.

I wish everyone to be in a healthy state by eating healthy and avoiding junk food.
